At Aservus ("we", "us"), protecting your privacy is not just a legal requirement—it's the foundation of our architecture. This policy outlines the types of information we collect and how we use it.
1. The "No-Upload" Architecture
Unlike traditional online tools, Aservus utilizes WebAssembly and HTML5 technologies to run complex code directly in your web browser. For tools like Merge PDF, Split PDF, and Image Converters:
- Your files never leave your computer.
- No data is uploaded to our servers.
- We have zero access to the content of your documents.
2. Server-Side Conversions
For specific advanced tools (like PDF to Office formats), we may require server-side processing due to current browser limitations. In these limited cases:
- Files are transferred over a secure, encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Files are processed in an isolated sandbox environment.
- Files are permanently deleted immediately after the output is generated.
- We do not create backups or logs of your file content.
3. Third-Party Services
YouTube Analytics: Our analytics tool uses the YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. We do not store your channel data.
Analytics: We use anonymous analytics to understand site traffic. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.
4. Data Retention
We practice data minimization. We do not require user accounts, so we do not store personal profiles, emails, or passwords.
5. How We Process Your Files (The Hybrid Model)
To allow more tools for our users, Aservus prioritizes client-side (browser-based) processing. However, some complex tools require server-side power.
Category A: Client-Side Tools (100% Private)
Tools like Merge, Split, and Organize run entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device.
Category B: Server-Side Tools (Secure Cloud)
Tools requiring heavy computation (e.g., PDF to Word, Compress PDF) are transmitted via encrypted SSL connection to our secure servers.
- Encryption: Files are encrypted during transfer (TLS 1.3).
- No Access: No human staff can view your files.
- Auto-Deletion: Our servers run an automated script to permanently delete input and output files 1 hour after processing.
